This walk starts in Monmouth and passes through the main town, crossing the river and then ascending to the Kymin and the naval monument, with the panoramic views over the Wye. The route then follows the Wysis Way through Highmeadow Woods leading onto Biblin's Bridge before returning alongside the Wye to Monmouth and the starting point.
There are 2 main ascents and descents, and several muddy paths so good walking boots and walking poles are advised. The car-parking is £6-20 all day in Monmouth on meter that take coins or credit cards.
The grade is Moderate under the new Ramblers guidance, but our Taff Ely Group would grade this walk as Moderate + due to the ascents involved.
