We are the High Weald Walkers Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk is to the north of Mayfield, and includes the old railway line and some quiet country lanes, plus woodland and meadows with expansive views of the Weald. It's an undulating route with 3 stiles. As expected, there's mud, so poles will help with balance. The worst of the mud will be in the first half of the walk so it will be more relaxing after the coffee break!

The walk starts from the Mayfield Memorial Hall overflow carpark, f coming from the Crowborough/Rotherfield direction to join the A267, take the 1st turn-off signposted Mayfield (the one before the roundabout) and follow it for about a quarter of a mile. The carpark is on the left, through large metal gates, just after passing, on the right, the entrance to Mayfield School playing fields, and before the sharp right hand bend to the High Street. After the metal gates, go left, passing the Memorial Hall on the right, to reach the overflow carpark at the rear of the Hall.
