A delightful 7 mile walk that explores the attractive hidden valleys near the Horseshoe Pass, with glimpses into their slate-mining past. Starting from the top of the Pass, this undulating route crosses open hillside with good views, descends to the Eglwyseg valley and continues to the hamlet of Pentre-Dwr. It then visits the little known Oernant valley hidden directly beneath the Pass, before returning up the old Horseshoe Pass road.
Directions: From Llangollen, take the A542 towards Ruthin and the Horseshoe Pass. At the top of the Pass is an informal off-road parking area.
