Overview

A moderate  circular walk of eight miles with one incline and no stiles, starting at Newton Regis and passing through the villages of Austrey and Appleby Parva. The route crosses open fields and along lanes with a small section on minor roads. Refreshments available in the Queen's Head pub at the end of the walk.

Meet at Wyndley for car sharing 08:45. Directions: Take A453 N to Tamworth, crossing Bassetts Pole and Mile Oak. At Jolly Sailor roundabout, take the first left A51 Tame Drive. At the next roundabout, take 4th exit Lichfield Street, signposted Town Centre. Follow the road onto Aldergate, then A513. After several sets of traffic lights, bear right onto B5493 Ashby Road. Continue for five miles then turn right at sign for Newton Regis. Turn left onto Main Street and the Village Hall is about 300 yards ahead on a sharp bend. Distance approx 13 miles. Park in Village Hall car park.
