Walking in and around Sutton Coldfield
Founded in 1991, we are a thriving group based in Sutton Coldfield on the northeastern fringes of Birmingham. We have a membership of around 230, and organise a varied programme of walks, catering for a range of abilities and ages.
We walk on the first two Thursdays of the month and every Sunday, and have monthly pub walks around the Sutton Coldfield area on Wednesday evenings during the summer.
Our walks range from four to ten miles across the West Midlands and surrounding counties on a variety of terrains including some urban settings. Traditionally, we offer a car-sharing option for those who prefer not to drive, and occasionally there are coach walks to locations further afield.
Join our friendly walking community
We are a friendly, supportive group enjoying good-humoured conversation and companionship on walks. New members are given a warm welcome and are provided with essential information to help them choose suitable walks; visitors and members from other groups are always welcome to join us.
We have regular social events, weekend walking breaks and occasional longer walking holidays in the UK and abroad. There are also volunteering opportunities with monthly working parties helping to maintain and protect footpaths in the parishes around Sutton Coldfield with support from Staffordshire County Council Rangers.
