Inspired by the Tyne Valley Train Trails (walks developed by Northumberland County Council), this is a linear walk using public transport to begin in Riding Mill and end in Hexham.
Our route from Riding Mill climbs up above the Tyne valley to High Plains and across Hemmels Fell. From here we descend to cross the March Burn and make our way to Todburn Steel before a walk through woods to Dipton House. Crossing Snokoehill Plantation we take a permissive path to cross the Devil's Water to Dilston Park. Our final stretch is through Duke's House Wood to Fell Side and down into Hexham Market Square.
Advance booking is required for this walk. To reserve your place, please e-mail the walk leader, Carol, through the contact box above - and remember to include your mobile number in the e-mail.
Booking opens on Monday, 17th February.
