Overview

This 10 mile walk will take us from Orwell County Park over the Orwell Bridge then along the West Bank of the Orwell to Ipswich waterfront.  Before getting there we will stop for a coffee break on the ancient Bourne Bridge.  From Ipswich waterfront we will return via Holywell Park (lunch break), Landseer Park and Orwell Country Park.

Word of warning; the walk over the Orwell Bridge will take up to 20 minutes on the dedicated walkway immediately adjacent the traffic travelling over the bridge at speeds of up to 60mph.  The high point of the bridge is 43m above the river.

Turn off the A14 at the Nacton Interchange towards Ipswich and take the first left onto Priory Lane. The walk will start from the car park on the North side of the A14. Location is 145 metres to the North of IP10 0JR.
