As ever, Pennine walks can be wet and muddy underfoot even on dry days, so walkers are advised to dress appropriately for the conditions, particularly in regard to footwear. Walking poles can be helpful in slippery conditions. Bring a packed lunch and drink, as refreshments will only be available in Littleborough after the walk has ended.

Meet at the entrance to Littleborough station car park, which is free on Sundays. The station is clearly signposted off the A58 Halifax Road in Littleborough. Public transport by both bus and train is available.
