This walk starts from the Hurtwood Control car park 13 on Winterfold Heath Road, meanders through the vast forests of Hurtwood and Winterfold, passes through the village of Peaslake, and skirts the bottom of Pitch Hill before returning to Hurtwood car park 13.
Directions to Hurtwood Control Car Park 13: If you're taking the Hound House Road south turn right onto Barhatch Lane. If you see Lawbrook Lane on your left you have gone too far. A half-mile along Barhatch Lane turn right at the fork along Winterfold Heath Road. Hurtwood Car Park 4 is right at the entrance to this road and Hurtwood Car Park 13 is 50-75 metres ahead on your right. Please refer to the photos for guidance. Note the subscript associated with each 'P' symbol on the Hurtwood Forestry layout map refers to the CP number.
