Circular walk around Penicuik on good paths, through woodlands, beside burns and in open countryside through the grounds of Penicuik Estate.
Starting at Tesco in Penicuik we follow a path along Cuiken Glen, climbing a little to reach an open area with lovely Pentland views. A path downhill through woods reaches the Penicuik Estate passing Penicuik House & following the river. Once out of the estate we follow a cycle track and woods to return to the start.
Paths could be muddy in places. so bring boots, gaiters and walking poles if used

Pentland View Car Park, Currie, off Lanark Rd West. Meet at Pentland View Carpark at 9:20 and be prepared to leave at 9:30 Note that the 44 bus stops at the Pentland View Carpark. Bus stop is called 'Pentland View Court'.
Tesco Car Park, Edinburgh Rd. Penicuik Start time at Penicuik 10.00 Travel Directions City bypass to Lothianburn junction, just after Hillend take A703, then A 701 to Penicuik. Large Tesco on left shortly after Beeslack High School. Park at the far end of the car park away from the store. Toilets in Tesco.
