The walk will start from the off road car park in Penmaen through the woods & farm land to join the Gower Way on the way to Cillibion. The walk crosses the B4271, which might be busy & then makes its way to Prysg. A short walk along the minor road from Prysg gains a first view of Cilifor Top, the largest Iron Age Fort on Gower. Given good weather we will take lunch on Cilifor top & enjoy the views over the Loughor Estuary. Other wise we will descend to Llanrhidian to eat. We will look at the church & the Leper Stone in Llanrhidian. We will also take time to see the resurgence of water immediately to the rear of the church, which supplied power to the local mills such as Staffal Haegr. The water comes from a number of streams flowing down the Northern flank of Cefn Bryn. The walk makes its way to the ridge Cefn Bryn, where short excursion around Arthur's Stone or Maen Ceti will be made. The return to the car park at Penmaen will be along the ridge of Cefn Bryn
Dogs are welcome, although there are a number of delapidated stiles & a gate, which dogs may need help to cross. Dogs must be put on a lead near any livestock.
Sunshine & dry weather is hoped for, a dab of suntan cream & a hat may be useful for these conditions.
However, even if sunny a sudden squal can rush up the Bristol Channel, so water proofs are considered essential. Boots are also necessary as the walk had a number of muddy spots when reccied.
Bring enough food & water for a six & half hour walk.
