Overview

The walk starts at Kennoway main street (north end) and continues by pavement to Windygates. From Windygates we head on tracks (faint in places) towards Markinch Hill and the towns ancient Stob Cross. From Markinch we head towards Glenrothes. Features of interest on this part of the walk is the woodland walk along the River Leven which offers chances to spot resident wildlife, including grey walktails and dippers. Other features of interest include Balbirnie Park and Stone Circle.
