Overview

South east of Ponteland/ Black Callerton and High Callerton. Eastwards along lane past Hold House Farm, then track to reach bridleway to airport. Back over fields to join part of outward route, then south on Tyne and Wear Heritage Way to Black Callerton and then over fields to High Callerton and thence back to start. One of these fields contained a herd of cattle, but these did not bother me on the pre-walk! There are a number of points of historic interest en-route

Good tracks on first half of walk, then some field walking (which could be muddy after heavy rain) partly in long grass (shorts NOT recommended!) and several stiles (a couple of which are broken), with a patch of churned-up terrain approaching High Callerton.

There will be a refreshment stop en-route if needed.
