Overview

Blackhall Mill to Whittonstall.  Starting out from Blackhall Mill we follow the Burn through Milkwellburn Wood and then on to Hollings on our way to Whittonstall where we take lunch. This first half of the walk is largely uphill, not overly steep, but it is worth the effort for some fantastic views from Whittonstall. After lunch we return via Wood House and follow the course of Mill Burn to the outskirts of Edchester.  The final section is a river side walk beside the Derwent back to Blackhall Mill.

Woodland trails, riverside paths and some open field walking.

Refreshments: Lunch stop and hydration stops if required. End of walk tea/coffee etc at the Riverview Bakery or drinks at The Tavern in Rowlands Gill.
