This walk will take you back through time the higher you climb. The Grotto was built in the early 1830's as a romantic garden feature and the Folly which was originally built in the 1770's but demolished in 1940 as it was feared enemy bombers would use it as a land mark. It was restored in 1994.
The walk starts at the Pontymoile Canal Basin where you will be met by the longer walkers and head towards the Grotto which is quite a steep climb up though fields then you pick up a more gentle climb up to the Folly where you can take in the views around you. We then head towards Little Mountain following the Cambrian Way before heading back down through Pontypool golf course, Pontypool Park and back to the Canal Basin.
