Catch the tram to Prestwich and walk back to Manchester through woodland and parks, following the route of the canal and the river. Not too demanding as mostly downhill so should be suitable if you're less experienced but dress for the weather and be prepared for muddy paths.
No dogs apart from registered assistance dogs.

Extra: Toilets at Piccadilly and Victoria stations. No toilets on the tram, at walk start or en route. Optional pub stop near the end, if you continue to the finish at Deansgate train and tram stops.
