This is a leisurely walk with only a few gentle inclines, but that offers wide-ranging views over Hollingworth Lake and Greater Manchester. Varied terrain takes us through open land, pretty wooded areas, an animal sanctuary, touches of local heritage and we finish along the canal towpath - something for all tastes.
Bring a packed lunch and drink as no refreshments will be available en route. As ever, Pennine weather is unpredictable so a waterproof and good footwear are highly recommended. This is a circular walk suitable for most abilities and dogs are welcome if kept on a short lead.
There are pubs and cafes in Littleborough for a post-walk wind-down! Littleborough is well-served by public transport, and there is ample parking at the station starting point.
