The final walk on the Wyre Valley line is a 7.5 mile section between Kidderminster, Blakedown and Hagley stations. After a short section within the town the route heads east through wooded countryside to Blakedown and Hagley. The final sections get slightly hillier and pass by several large man made ponds constructed to collect water from the Clent Hills for the various water powered mills that used to operate in the area. Futher details, maps and gpx tracks can be accessed through the attached website link. The walk uses the Kidderminster to Blakedown and Blakedown to Hagley sections. PDFs for both can be downloaded from the website link.
As with all three Rail trail Walks the plan is to catch the 10.15 train from Worcester Foregate Street station. It is possible to park at Kidderminster station but there is a charge so you may prefer to arrive by train from Worcester or Droitwich. The walk itself will start when the train from Worcester arrives at 10.37. It is anticipated we will catch either the 15.31 train from Hagley to return to Worcester. Foregate Street at 16.02.
