Overview

An 11 mile circular, leisurely walk. The walk goes through Wintersett, Ryhill, Felkirk and the Rabbit Ings Country Park with a lunch stop in Royston (pubs available) before returning via the TPT along part of the disused Barnsley Canal and through Haw Wood back to the starting point.

Meet in the car park at the Anglers Country Park, Wintersett. From Doncaster, take the A638 towards Wakefield and just after the entrance to Nostell Priory, turn left onto Garmil Lane. Then take the next right onto Swine Lane, following the brown road signs for ‘The Heronry Waterside Discovery Centre’. After about a mile or so, turn right onto Moorhouse Lane and at the junction at the end of this road, turn left passing through Wintersett village before turning right onto Haw Park Lane. The car park is on the right-hand side at the end of this road. Car parking charges apply.
