Overview

This is a strenuous walk leaving from Rydal Road car park In Ambleside. We will walk up to Red Screes via High Sweden bridge and Scandale Pass. Dropping down we will come via Snarker Pike. An alternative to the more frequently travelled routes around Fairfield Horseshoe and Wansfell.

Please note: The route is very rocky in places with scree and boulders. This can be slippy so hiking boots are essential. If the weather is poor on the day then the walk will leave from the car park at the same time but the route will change to a safer low level one.

The car park is P and D.

Ramblers members please remember to show your membership card or Phone Ap. (Otherwise, if not a Ramblers member please book a place via Hike on Lancashire on Meetup - suggested donation of £2)
