We are the Lower Wye Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the car park at Framilode we walk along the disused section of the Stroudwater Canal to join the River Severn at Epney and then follow the Severn for a mile. Then across to Longney and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and back to the car park along the tow path. A flat easy walk.
Bring a packed lunch and good foot wear as some sections may be muddy.
Chepstow Leisure Centre car park. Car share places cannot be guaranteed. Post on WhatsApp if wanting or offering car share. Car share levy £4.00 Or go directly to the start point.
Car park on the Gloucester & Sharpness canal at Saul basin. Parking is run by Canal and Waterways Trust and is £2.50 for 4 hrs or £5.00 for 8hrs. From J13 on the M5 take the A38 south for 0.5 mile, the turn right onto the B4071 towards Frampton. After 1.5 miles turn right into Whitminster Lane (brown sign for Saul Junction), then after 0.5 mile turn left, and then turn right immediately after crossing the canal, and go to the car park at the end of the lane. For car sharing from Chepstow meet at Chepstow Leisure Centre at 9.00, or otherwise go directly to the start.
