Overview

A circular walk from Knowsley embankment going clockwise round Yarrow Reservoir.  Then heading up to the Pigeon Tower.  We then follow Belmont road to The Pike Snack Shack (pies, hot and cold drinks, chocolate etc), before descending to Lower Rivington reservoir and Liverpool Castle.  Then following the banks of the reservoir passing Great House Barn (Toilets and further chance of refreshments) until we reach Horrobin Lane.  Crossing the embankment before following the banks of Upper Rivington reservoir back to the start point.

Roadside parking on the embankment.  The walk follows good paths and tracks with very little mud.  There are three stiles but on the recce the gates next to them were not locked so they weren't needed.  There are approx. 180 steps up to the Pigeon Tower but are staggered and will be taken at a leisurely pace with lunch at the top.  Good views over the surrounding countryside.
