We are Herts Weekend Walkers, HWW for Short . We are aimed at people aged in their 40s, 50s & 60s who are normally working during the week and can usually only find time to get outside and enjoy a walk at the weekend.

Overview

We meet at the entrance to Pound Farm Sandridge opposite the Queens Head PH AL4 9DL. We take the Hertfordshire Way in the direction of Hammonds Farm before skirting Titnol’s Wood before arriving in Cromer Hyde. We walk through the village before turning in the direction of Long Grove Plantation and Dogsheart Spring before skirting Symonshyde Farm (A Hyde is a measurement of land big enough to feed a family). We then walk through Symonshyde Great Wood in the direction of Fairfold’s Farm before passing Capps Cottage before re-entering Sandridge via Woodcockhill.

Church End opposite the Queens Head PH in Sandridge opposite Pound Farm in the St Albans Road (main street). Please park with consideration around the village or use the Heartwood Forest (free) Car Park AL4 9DQ. Which is a five minute walk from the walk start point.
