Overview

We meet at Sandwich Fire Station on Ash Road, opposite Richborough Road on the outskirts of Sandwich (free parking along Ash and Richborough Roads) and after walking through the town we follow the river and the English Coastal Path to Sandwich Bay, walking along the shoreline then returning across the golf courseand via fieldsand marshes. Depending on the tide, some of the walk may be on soft, damp sand and shingle. Walk is very exposed in windy and wet weather but equally warm on a nice day! Please bring your own drinks and snacks for a short break on the beach midway through the walk. There are toilets at Sandwich Bay which are normally open, although this is NOT guaranteed. For those who wish to stay on for lunch, nothing has been booked but there are plenty of cafes, pubs and fish and chip shops in Sandwich on our return. Please note this walk is not suitable for dogs due to proximity to golf courses and bird reserve.
