Walking in East Kent
Our group appeals to people mainly in the 30s to 60s range, around the East Kent area. We are a friendly and welcoming group made up of couples and singles. Our group helps local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. We offer regular walks – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
There is no specific age range for East Kent Walking Group (affectionately abbreviated to EKWG) but we normally walk between 8-16 miles every Sunday, so as long as you are happy with the distance, then you are most welcome! Check our walks programme for details of mileage and grade. We are a friendly and welcoming group and there are usually between 10 and 25 people on an average walk. There are also shorter walks on some Saturdays and one weekday evening during the summer for some after-work stress relief!
Our Sunday walks usually incorporate a pub stop for lunch or a drink in one of the many pretty countryside pubs across East Kent. We also have a very active social life, regularly meeting up for dinner, cinema, drinks, BBQs etc. You can find all the details about the group including our walks programme, social calendar and contact details on our website or our Facebook page. Alternatively, feel free to e-mail our co-chairpeople, Nick Barrett or Malcolm Wills directly for more information.
