We are the Northants 20s-40s Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
For this year's Santa Hat Walk we will once again be starting in the centre of Northampton, to make sure plenty of people see our Santa Hats and costumes!
We will head through town and Beckett's Park and along the riverside. From there we will go to Northampton Washlands. We stop in Little Houghton for lunch (bring your own packed lunch), followed by a drink at the Four Pears. In the afternoon we will return to Northampton via Great Houghton and the grounds of Delapre Abbey where there can be a further stop for tea and cake! Then it's back into town via the University Campus. There is also the option of a further drink in town at the end, should anyone wish.
The walk is around 8 miles in total, mostly on the relatively flat, other than down from town at the start and back up at the end.
Santa Hats are compulsory, dressing up in Christmas costume (elf etc) is strongly encouraged!
Meet for a 10.30 am start at the front of All Saints Church on George Row in Northampton town centre.
