Very pleasant flat walk from Shakerley Mere along Cheshire lanes and footpaths, over fields and through villages.
Plenty of points of interest along the route.
Paths are generally very good, however it is winter so gaiters are advised.
Please notify walk leader if going direct to start.
There are two car parks adjacent to the mere. Use the Northwich Road (B5082) one.
UPDATE: Eileen
I have taken over this walk from Chris Bishop and I recce'd it with him yesterday (5 January), after the recent heavy rain.
To avoid flooded field paths, the walk distance is nearer to 10 miles (from 8.7 miles) on tracks and footpaths. There were some water-logged and muddy sections so gaiters and walking poles would come in handy. The walk route is flat, and there are a number of stiles. There are interesting places along the way.
