Overview

Walking from Sheriff Hutton village hall car park , castle & village to reach the Ebor Way continuing up to Primrose Farm and Mowthorpe Lane and fish ponds. Now walking on the Centenary Way to High Stittenham we now take a path down through the woods towards Wheatclose and Sheep Close Farm taking the path back to Sheriff Hutton.

We will have excellent long distance views, the fish ponds is worth a visit and the ruins of the castle.

Parking at the village hall FREE south of Sheriff Hutton. the village cafe appears to be shut although the web site says the are open so will possibly go to the Lavender Farm tea room just up the road

May be a couple of muddy sections path at the side of the castle ,field by Primrose Farm and field towards Mowthorpe Bridge . just a bit muddy under foot. good footing at Primrose Hill Farm but its up and long steady uphill to High Stittenham.
