Shincliffe/Croxdale Hall circular
A moderate walk of 8 miles. Starting in High Shincliffe we head south enjoying a mixture of good paths and open fields (including a path with the great name of "Strawberry Lane"), before turning west and heading towards the grounds of Croxdale Hall. The approach to the hall is via a tree lined road with grand open pasture on each side. As we pass the hall we make our way northwards for a lunch stop. After lunch we turn east through woodland before turning north towards Shincliffe village. From the village we loop round by Shincliffe park and head back through lovely open farmland to High Shincliffe.
The walk has a number of steps and narrow woodland paths to negotiate, so please bring your stick if you use one. There are also a number of Livestock on the route so it isn't suitable for dogs.
The ever reliable Dave Marshall has also kindly made the option of a shorter walk available.
