Overview

This walk is either 6 or 10 miles. Park in the CP for the Roman Town (nearest postcode RG7 2HJ). The walk is in two parts. The first part is 6 miles through open farmland, heath and woodland with 6 stiles. It goes through Mortimer West End towards Padworth returning to the CP via Padworth Common and Benyon’s Inclosure with Kiln Pond. The second part follows part of the Silchester Heritage Trail anticlockwise returning via the Roman Amphitheatre and the Roman City walls. BRING A PACKED LUNCH IF DOING BOTH PARTS.
