Overview

A linear walk from West Drayton we follow the main Grand Union Canal and at Cowley Peachy Junction we follow the Slough branch canal all the way to the Slough Basin on Stoke Road. This is a flat walk along the canal tow path (apart from one steeply inclined footbridge to cross) The canal has an interesting history and hopefully there will be plenty of wildlife to see on the walk. The tow path may be uneven in places or muddy after rain. Bring a snack and a drink. From the Slough Basin it is 3-minute walk back to St Paul's Church if you are parked there or a 10-minute walk back to Slough Station.

Meet at Slough Railway Station to catch the 10.20 train to West Drayton to arrive by 10.29. But a single ticket. As there is no free parking near Slough Station, we have been given permission to park at St Paul's Church, Stoke Road, Slough SL2 5AS. (enter the driveway to the right of the church) Meet Christine at the church at 9:30am if you would like to park at the church. It is then a short walk to Slough Station. There are toilets at Slough Station. '
