Overview

One of our Slow Walks - 2 miles in 2 hours. This will be from Bowker Vale Tram stop with a short walk along roads to Blackley Forest.  Short climb up into the woods and then down some steps to the River Irk.  Follow the Irk through the Forest to Victoria Avenue - about 40 minutes - just under a mile.  Seats next to the Irk or on fallen logs.   At Victoria Avenue you can leave the walk and get the 156 bus back to Shude Hill.

For a longer walk, there is a return route for those who would like to take this, following a different path through the woods, up some steps and then a gradual down hill walk to the starting point and then back to Bowker Vale for the Metrolink to Bury or Manchester.
