A scenic spring walk following the Sirhowy river with a gentle climb up Mynydd Islwyn, a small mountain, enjoying views of the Central Beacons, Rhymney and Sirhowy valleys before descending to the Nant y Draenog Resevoir and gradually walking back along the river to the start point. There will be a short section of urban / residential and country road walking.
Parts of the rural terrain on route are likely to be muddy. Gaiters are advisable.
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead because of the livestock / cattle, roads and river that we pass during the walk.
The walk will need to start at 10:00am prompt and arriving early, 10 or 15 minutes before is recommended. Thank you.
