A lovely walk from the historic village of South Stoke, including sections of the Circuit of Bath, Limestone Link, Somerset Coal Canal and Cam Brook. Early on is a long, very pleasant descent with great views, then we follow the dismantled railway track for a short distance and continue with a pretty, level woodland walk. Just before Combe Hay we start to ascend a well surfaced path which is quite steep in places. We are rewarded with a level section and the fabulous South Stoke Millennium Viewpoint before returning to South Stoke and our starting point.
No stiles. You may find walking poles useful. Please bring elevenses and lunch.
Refreshment opportunities near the end of the walk at South Stoke’s historic community pub, The Packhorse, or after the walk has finished, at the Cross Keys.
