Overview

Starting at Birchen Clough Bridge layby, this walk takes in Oyster Clough, Cowms Rocks, and Old Roman Road.  This walk is suitable for competent moorland walkers.

Some very good tracks along with some rough moorland and a steep descent off from Hey Ridge.  We will take it slowly and enjoy the views.  Poles recommended.

Birchen Clough Bridge layby on the A57 Snake Pass, above the Snake Inn. The car park is 1km up the A57 from the Snake Inn on the right side. IT IS NOT INDICATED FROM THE ROAD. The road from Bradwell to Brough is closed.
