Overview

Starting at the car park next to the Procurator's House in Magor the walk takes us along one side of the valley or vale to St Brides Netherwent.  The remains of the medieval deserted village are a Scheduled Ancient Monument. We rejoin the road for a short distance where we have a short ascent to Penhow Castle.  The path drops down through the farm and we take a bridleway back to Bowden's Lane dropping back down to the Magor Road returning from there to where we started at the car park next to Magor Square.
