A leisurely walk around Stagshaw with the prospect of the Errington Coffee House at the end.
Our route follows the Roman Wall Path initially, then visits Portgate, Stagshaw Bank and Halton Castle before returning via the Roman Wall Path (again). Varied terrain of fields, woodland and quiet tracks/lanes with good views throughout. One crossing of the busy A68. One short, steep climb but only 450 feet of ascent in total. Quite a few styles on the Roman Wall section but all are in good condition.

Please meet in the lay-by off the Stagshaw roundabout (a small access track to the disused garage). From the A68 northbound, turn right at the roundabout onto the B6318 (Military Road). The entrance to the lay-by is approximately 200 metres on your right. Car sharing is recommended as space is limited.
