Starting under the viaduct at Ivybridge, we’ll walk through Longtimber Wood alongside the river and into Kings Wood and onto Harford Bridge. From there we’ll walk to Burford Down and Tristis Rock where we will have a tea break before continuing on to Stalldown’s many prehistoric stone features. Burford Down and Stalldown have two of Dartmoor’s most impressive stone rows, each being over 500m long. The views from Stalldown should be impressive, including of Piles Copse and Red Lake. We will return via Grange Plantation and Hanger Down.
About 11 miles and 1700ft of ascents. Steep climp to Stalldown but otherwise a moderate walk.
