Overview

This walk takes us over to West Dean through open beech, coniferous woodlands and ancient yew forests. The descent from Kingley Vale offers great panoramic views across to the Trundle and downland. Crossing the B2141, there is a stretch of road walking through to the A2486,crossing at Binderton House,  Strolling across  sheep pastures and crossing the Lavant we reach the lunch stop at West Dean. From there, we take the Monarch's Way up to Goose Hill camp and retrace our steps back down to the Car Park. One long steady ascent up from CP and one short but steep ascent up to Goose Hill Camp.
