Stour Valley Path – A six-part 60 mile linear walk, starting in Newmarket, ending in Cattawade. Two cars are necessary. Park first car at The Village Hall, The Street, Great Thurlow, Suffolk, then park 2nd car at The National Stud car park, CB8 0XE TL 618 614. Take National Stud turning from roundabout junction A1303/1304, South West of Newmarket, park towards end of the access road to the National Stud.
We walk approx. 2 ½ miles of the Devil’s Dyke (built in 6th Century), to Stetchworth. As we cross into Suffolk from Cambridgeshire, we see our first glimpse of the River Stour. Now we follow the river and end our first day at Great Thurlow.
Bring packed lunch.
