Overview

Lintzford to Hill Top

A moderate 5 mile walk commencing outside the entrance of the Lintzford Garden Centre. We will head west for short distance, alongside the A694, before turning south towards the impressive Pont Burn viaduct. At the B6310 road we will have to turn left on to it for approximately 200 metres, before turning south again into Old Mill woods. We then begin a steady, but very manageable, climb through a mixture of woodland and fields, with plenty of opportunity for kicking leafs, to the aptly named "Hill Top". The views over the Derwent Valley are well worth the journey (there were Red Kites flying around during the recce).

From here it's an easy stroll on good paths, with great views, as we head back to the Garden Centre for refreshments.
