This is the seventh of our Thames Footpath walks. There is no obligation to have taken part in all or any of the previous walks - if you fancy just attending this one - that is fine! No problem bringing dogs
We will meet out side Windsor and Eton Riverside station at 11am - later than normal to allow for the journey time but it is also a relatively short walk. For the early birds amongst us - the town centre is very close to the station so you could fit in a slap up breakfast, a wander around the shops and still be ready to go at 11!
We start by walking through Windsor along the river - and past Royal Windsor Racecourse. I seem to remember some great graffiti under the bridge as we leave Windsor . We go onto pass Oakley Court Hotel where apparently they used to make some of the Hammer Horror films. As we pass through Bray we seem some stunning riverside houses - but we also have to cope with the noise of walking under the M4. Our destination today is Maidenhead - the station is 3/4 mile from the river - but this mileage is allowed for in the walk distance. Lunch will largely depend on the weather - personally I would suggest a good breakfast, snacking on the way and then real food in Maidenhead where clearly there will be lots of options. Trains From Maidenhead to Paddington can be very quick - c25 minutes and cost £14.70. I think you can use Oyster from Maidenhead - but I can't promise, and trying to find out hasn't made it any clearer...
This is the last of our Thames footpath walks before Christmas - we start again in February 2024!
