Walking in West Kent
Do you want to meet friendly like-minded people in a relaxed and social environment whilst also improving your fitness and wellbeing? Tempted to immerse yourself in the wonderful Kent countryside? Then West Kent Walking Group (WKWG) is the group for you.
West Kent Walking Group is a friendly, welcoming and upbeat walking group with members located across the West Kent area and beyond. We appeal to walkers mainly in the 30s to 60s age range, who want a slightly longer walk.
Our walks are typically 8 -15 miles long and are open to all. We organise weekly walks all year round, mostly at weekends and also weekday and evening walks in the summer.
Our walks cover the West Kent area including Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, and the Darenth Valley as well as East Sussex and the coasts of Kent and East Sussex.
Join our walking community
Joining us on walks is a great way to get outside in the fresh air and nature, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health, wellbeing and happiness. You will be led by one of our wonderful volunteer walk leaders who will share with you their favourite locations and interesting snippets of local history.
In addition to our regular weekly walks, we also organise several walking holidays a year so that we can explore different parts of the country. We also hold various social events throughout the year involving meals out, music gigs, pub quizzes, theatre & cinema trips, festivals and local events.
For those that want to get involved further, there are numerous opportunities for you to volunteer for the group; this can range from leading walks, organising & helping with path clearances, organising holidays and socials, or holding a position on the committee.
