Meet 10.15 to start walking at 10.30. This lovely walk in Autumn begins in the village of Thixendale. We then climb the short, steep hill onto the chalkland path of the Yorkshire wolds way, across the fields and down towards the medieval village of Wharram Percy. Where we can stop for a break and look around. Heading then along an old disused railway line towards the village of Wharram le Street, we then join the centenary way (a short road section, which is quiet but there may be the odd car/tractor). We soon rejoin the centenary and make our way down into Thixendale.
This walk is a 9 mile walk that follows a figure of eight. There is sometime livestock around so please can dogs be kept on leads. It follows good tracks, fields which may be muddy and minor roads.
The village hall may be open afterwards for refreshments. Mobile phone reception in this area is limited at times. BRING CASH. Off street parking avaliable in village, please be respectful of residents.
