Overview

Walk across open fields with views of the Severn estuary. Through Shirenewton and down into the Golden valley passing a racing yard then onto Dinham valley before looping back and heading back up into Earlwoood valley before climbing up to Trem Hafren.

Some short steep climbs on uneven surfaces. Waterproof boots essential as springs often flood the tracks. Approx 10 stiles to negotiate.

Car parking at Nick's home, loads of space. From Chepstow take the B4235 to Usk. Take left turn signposted Shirenewton and Mynydd-bach. Follow road through village take right turn at Sultan Indian restaurant. Drive straight up the hill for one mile Trem Hafren is on the right.
