Overview

Walk leader will be in the Caffi at 9:30  having a cuppa if you want refreshments before starting. From the car park, we walk up to the Treveithick monument in Pontmorlais then follow the old tramway to Tescos. Passing by Tescos, we then go through the fountain carpark, past the Lucy fountain and Parish church, through Caerdraw to pick up the Taff trail. We then follow the Taff trail to the Brandy bridge which we cross and visit the Trevithick tunnel. From there, we walk to Pentrebach station where we catch a train (£2.80) back to Merthyr. We then walk back to Soar. There are lots of places where you can cut your walk short and use public transport back to town if required.
