A walk highlighting the sights and history of Southsea seafront. There is currently work going on at the bus terminus so if you come on the bus it may stop up in the main road. We can still meet somewhere around the steps up to Portsmouth Harbour Station and then walk via Gunwharf Quays, Old Portsmouth, South Parade Pier to the Lumps Fort rose gardens. There is a newly opened stretch of the new sea defences but they may well close another stretch by then - it is a big project.
After picnic lunch at Lumps Fort we will return via a slightly inland route or you may get on a bus back to the start point reducing the walk to 4 miles.
