Starting in Church Stretton we cross the valley to gently contour around Hazler Hill. Climbing to Gaer Stone via Daniel's Gate, we cross the Hope Bowdler ridge. Providing stunning views across the Stretton valley and the Long Mynd as well as towards Wenlock Edge and the distant Brown Clee Hill.
Visiting the Battle Stones, reputed site of the Roman command post for conquering Caer Caradoc, we contour across the side of Caer Caradoc, entering the bronze age site via the old gatehouse site and pass under Three Fingers Rock.
Recrossing the valley we reach All Stretton, skirting Nover's Hill, the site of a mediaeval enclosure.
Before we return to Church Stretton.
An excellent walk for beginner walkers to explore the hills of Church Stretton and visit the less well walked eastern hills. A short climb to Caer Caradoc, avoiding the summit, provides spectacular views across the Shropshire countryside.
