The walk is from the historic village of Falkland through woodland, up beside an attractive burn with waterfall and onto the the open moorland of the Lomond Hills with a final ascent of W Lomond. From the top of W Lomond there are panoramic 360 degree views over the Forth and Tay, Loch Leven and East Fife - fingers crossed for a clear day. Some sections involve steep ascents which will be taken at a slow pace.
The route starts from the centre of Falkland, through Falkland Estate, up the burn to Craigmead and west to W Lomond. The return is along the outward route with some alternative paths.
Terrain - on estate roads, tracks and paths with made surfaces for most of the walk; small section which could be muddy.
