Overview

This walk starts from the 'West' Venford Reservoir car park, taking in views of the River Dart as we make our way to Combestone Tor.  We then proceed up to Holne Ridge, Petre’s Bound Stone and Snowden.  Onto Pupers Hill then down to Chalk Ford for lunch.  We might be lucky enough to see the deer before we leave Scorriton Down and climb back up onto the moor to ‘find’ our way back.

There are some inclines but they are not too bad. Although Holne Ridge can be pretty marshy it is relatively dry in summer.

There are toilet facilities at the car park and a £1 donation is requested for their maintenance.
